Congratulations on being a new mom! Motherhood is an exciting and full filling time in your life. One of the main concerns new mothers have (asides from the new baby) is how they can lose all the weight they’ve gained during their pregnancy. I’m pretty sure that you would much rather spend quality time with your new baby than having to run off to the gym for a couple of hours everyday.
God knows how challenging it can be to lose pregnancy fat. You don’t have to sacrifice your time with your new son or daughter to get back into shape. Without having to neglect your new child, here are some way you can do to help lose that stubborn pregnancy fat.
The first step you can do is to control what you put into your body. As you know, post pregnancy is a roller coaster of emotions due to hormones. You will see some changes in your body after childbirth because your hormone levels are trying to get back to the way they were. Your body will start to crave many different kinds of food because of your hormones being out of sorts. You can’t pig out on ice cream and use the excuse your eating for two anymore. By stabilizing and controlling how much sugar your body is taking in, you can keep cravings at bay. Try eating often throughout the day and eating in small quantities. You have a greater chance at weight loss if you eat 5-6 small meals a day vs. the traditional 2-3 meals.
Secondly, other than the great benefits for your child during breast feeding, you can also lose more weight if you breast feed. It’s hard to believe but there is a biological reason why you gain weight during pregnancy. When you breast feed, your body lactates and you need that extra fat. You can burn up to 500-700 calories a day just by breast feeding. Another way to bond with you child is to breast feed, it is also the most rewarding way to burn calories.
Third, you can lose pregnancy fat and spend quality time with your baby just by taking a walk around the neighborhood. Your neighbors and friends are probably all dying to see your new baby, so instead of having them come to visit you, why not get some exercise and put your child in a stroller and walk all over the neighborhood to show him or her off. Your friends and neighbors are probably excited to meet your new addition in the family and instead of them coming over, why don’t you take your little bundle of joy for a walk in the stroller. Going for a walk is a fast exercise to lose weight, walking can also help you deal with the stress of being a new mother if this is done everyday.
Keep in mind it’s not important to lose this weight fast. Realize that your body has been through an ordeal, take it easy. Try to lose weight as safely and natural as you can, for your baby’s sake. Don’t you want to start off motherhood as safe as you can, for your baby by losing weight safely and naturally . Be patient and soon you will lose that pregnancy fat and be able to fit in your little black dress again.
